I currently work at a laser house and have access to any material from .02-1" and have been CADing some knives to cut and finish, but my main question is about a forge. Like I said, I have acces to 3/4" and a laser to cut it, I would like to build a forge from said metals, if anyone has any suggestions or tips for me that would be great. Also, I have a few machetes/kukris cut as master blanks, but unsure of what material I should use for my finals, I've been told anything from 1055 to 1095 to 6150 and so on. Im trying to stay on the affordable, economical side (to start) so I was thinking 1075/1084 at .1875" if anyone has any thoughts on this, it would be greatly appreciated. Many other questions to come, but Ill start with these for now.
