Do experienced Kukri buyers have favorite makers/dealers. Is there a difference in quality?

I noticed some makers have the word kami following their name. What does that mean?

Do the makers all live in the same village or work in the same shop and therefore folllowing the same forging and heat treatment procedures?

What is the difference between HI Forums and HI Cantina?

Please understand this is my first foray into the Kukri worls and it seems very different from my past experience. Any help would be appreciated.

yes we do... i will let others chime in with there favorites
each kami have there specialties... bura has been known to make a mean blade
i have a fair share of bura, sher and kumar made pieces
kami is nepali for blacksmith iirc...
they all work in the same factory... birghorka :)
the HI cantina is for non HI related stuff... basically a place for use to chat it up :D

So far my favorite is Dil but strangely enoungh everytime I order something it seems to be made by him (I think Yangdu is trying to tell me something) in fact other than my bilton everything i own is made by Dil. Looks like I need but buy more stuff.

Looks like I've been more lucky with Bura's stuff. I have to say I don't think I would make a difference between each kami's blade, except for the mark.
