Hi everybody.... I've been interested in knife making for a long time and ran across the site today. I thought it was a great site so i joined. Now i have a few questions. I have blanks and scales and everything is ready to go or is already together. I was wonderin what you guys do to give the polished look to your scales/handles. I am using elk and deer horn, both full tang and hidden tang. Any additional info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Tony

hey tony welcome to the makers forum
i dont work with bone, horn or stag but i bet that reading the newbies thread will help and also a maker that works with those handles will chime in
maybe if your close to a maker they might have you over where you from (want to fill out that profile )

Meguires Gold Class Car Wax and a Good Buffer... Makes Bone and Antler happy, and a Stag is a type of Deer, or Party, :D Sambar Stag is a farm raised deer from India whose antlers knifemakers like to use becuase it has a deep rich brownish red color to it. besure to wear a respirator when working it, your lungs will thank you for it!
