newbie Team Leader question

I just purchased a Team Leader. I intend for it to serve as an all-around camp/hunting knife. I am a little worried about the leaf shape/blade thickness if I had to use it for a survival knife-does the new steel remedy that in some way i.e you get all the pluses of a leaf shape (which are?) yet the tip would be equal in strength to a typical drop point/thicker blade due to the stronger steel?

Nobody? I am new here. Anyone have a Team Leader and feel it makes a good do anyhting knife?
