Newby Looking For Help

Yea, I think I am going have to get two. One to hunt with and then save for the heirloom piece. Just trying not to get addicted to steel lol. However, there are worse things. Beautiful piece in that pic. Certainly heirloom quality in my book.

"Trying not to get addicted to steel". Oh, you will be, you will be...:p

Yea, if only I had studied this hard in school. Just picked up my knife which I think could be my heirloom and my deer gutting knife. Went with G L Drew's 52100 lightweight hunter. The work looks like my style. Can't wait till it arrives. Thanks for all the help and suggests. I still have a lot of learning to do but this forum has been a priceless resource. Do they have rehab for steel junkies?

would you be willing to put on your own handlle scales? makes your knife much more of an heirloom if "grandpa made this knife" (In my experience non-knife people see putting on a handle as "making a knife") Here's my f1

I plan on doing that on future factory production knives but not this one. I really like the complete look of Drew's work. Plus I kinda dont want to build on someone elses art. That, and i just dont have the skill set to do it justice. I just bought it today so it is still listed but will try to get some pics up when it arrives. I like what you have done with that F1. Looks a lot better than the out of the box production.
