What is the diff between bead and sand blast?? Is it grit size or a completly different blasting matrial?? thanxalot..... soop

Different materials. One is obviously, sand, the other, glass beads, of a sort.
There is also ceramic blast media, silicone carbide, and aluminum oxide media. No doubt a ton more that I don't even know about.
There are also different sizes/grits to all of these.

Thanks mike ,Thats about what I figured. Can the same equipment be used or would I need a seperate setup for beadblasting?? thanxalot..soop

Sand is a much sharper media and cuts deeper than glass beads which are round so the finish is quite a bit different. Glass beads leave a more reflective surface than sand.

The same setup can be used for both by simply emptying the one media and replacing it with the other.
