well i stopped by my surplus store and rounded up these items because i though thy would be useful. I am seeing a nice quench tank out of the black tank. I even found a super high quality liquid temp probe that screw's into any of the 3 hole in the tank. i will cut off the top of the tank and bam a nice quench tank. next is the 4 chin sprockets that will go to my rolling mill. and last but not least is the awesome air cylinder i found. it is like 4" in size i think and looks to be perfect for an air powered hammer. so it looks like i came out ahead and to think i only spent 90 bucks.

I don't know about the other stuff but I agree that should make an excellent quench tank. What do you think it will hold 2&1/2 - 3 gallons maybe.

well lets see here. it is about 8" inside diameter i think and when cut it will be around 22" long. now lets do the math. pie x r^2 = 50.24 square inches. now times that by the length. 50.24 x 22 = 1105.28 cubic inches. One gal is 231 cubic inches so thats 1105.28 \ 231 = 4.78 gal. so 5 gal is just enough quench oil for the tank :D. if you notice there are a few threaded ports on the side. I'm thinking about hooking up the top port and bottom port to an oil cooler and cycle it so it stays cool and does not over heat.
