Forgive me Hogfather for I have sinned.

Prior to ever owning a Busse I spoke against them. I didn't get it, it couldn't possibly be worth THAT much money. Why doesn't it come with a sheath? What the heck is INFI anyway? Plus, they're ugly.

Then came the SAR5. I noted threads in here that regarded it as the Red-headed step child of the line up, notibly un-popular.

Surely I thought this must be the Busse for me. If I don't like Busse knives in general and this one is not generally liked then this truly is the one for me.

So I finally bought a Busse....

I get it now.

For all those who aren't sure, don't want to take the plunge, wavering, on the fence. DO IT!

I immediately turned around and picked up a BAD and a Scotch Dispenser from the Company Store and I'm already twitching because while i LOVE, I say again LOVE my BAD I think I need another one in the coyote/black config.

I just had to say, I get it.

And holy crap is it just me or are these BAD's friggin sweet or what? Doood I love this knife, love it, love it, love it...

And another one drinks the Kool-Aid. Welcome to the addiction, brother. Soon you will be as broke as the rest of us. I bought my first Busse a little over two years ago, thinking "sure, I can buy just one. How can anyone get addicted to a type of knife, especially one that's so expensive?" Ha. Now I have Busses everywhere- I think I have a couple dozen now. And I have to fight off increasingly powerful urges to buy more, almost every day.

INFI multiplies- and fast. Hold on to your wallet, it's gonna be a bumpy ride!

Edit: Oh, and if you like your BAD, check out the Hairy Carries over at Swamp Rat. They're similar, but arguably even better (for me). The only drawback is that they're not INFI, but they're still plenty tough.

Sweet!! I can't get enough of the BADs either... they're the perfect EDC.

Out of curiosity, how does the BAD compare to the Hairy Carry LE? I'm kind of torn between the two, is the BAD worth the extra $$$? This would be my first Busse as well as my first fixed blade EDC.

Welcome! The BAD is a great EDC and my favorite knife. Enjoy the koolaid!

INFI is worth the extra coin, but the HC is a great slicer. Since it's your first, go with the BAD IMO.

Oh, and you wallet and credit cards are going to go nuclear!

ah, Grasshopper, of small infi blades, you have yet to experience a HUGE POWERFUL Busse like a Fusion steel heart, or Fusion Battle Mistress, or mabe even the illusive Special Forces Natural outlaw (SNFO), THEN you will truly dwell in the FORCE OF THE INFI! AH, the power of indestructiveness :-)

I know what you mean, I started out with the easy stuff like Chris Reeve and Ontario and such then one day a so called freind had some Busse and I tried it that was all it took now it has got real bad I just recently ordered the BEAST and have taken part in Ganza's and still cant get enough. So now I am thinking, I think I am going to the Busse Company Store for another fix. Get out while you still have a chance and if not just remember NO REGRETS.
Later, Lee

Welcome to the madness.

The thing about Busses is really quite simple. Like all things, Busse knives have good sides and bad sides. A lot of people seem to more or less intentionally misinterpret the positive statements of Busse users, as if Busse users were claiming that Busses are perfect and entirely faultless with absolutely nothing to improve upon or absolutely no downsides of any kind. That's obviously not the case with anything in life, including Busses, and I don't see Busse users claiming that, either. Sure, Busses are pricier than many other knives, and less available than many other knives, and sure, Busse has a different marketing model than most. But the good sides are what they are: great customer service, outstanding warranty, original designs, great resale value, but above all, extremely impressive performance in real use whether that be prolonged cutting tasks or chopping wood or just plain abusive tasks like prying.

What's there not to like, assuming one is interested in knives and not in politics? It is murder to your wallet, though. :D

:D

That is why I love Busse knives. I have done a lot of different cutting tasks and the Busses have never failed me. I also love the community here on the forums. I have learned a lot from the different people here and they have helped me enable my addiction.

Welcome to the addiction. :D

Yes, there are some very good guys (and girls!) here. And very generous, too.

Hey Hollowdweller shoot me an email amigo I've been trying to get in touch with you.

Probably gonna get one of those too. Thin and looks like a great design ergonomically:thumbup:

They are very comfortable. Easy to carry, easy to handle, easy to clean, easy to sharpen. They slice very well, indeed.

I prefer the micarta handles, but the G10 grips are fine, too.

It's possible I have a slight addiction to the BADs. :o

Ahhhh...it is good to hear from a repentant one! ;) Fortunately for you, we have LOTS of Kool Aid and are a pretty secure bunch over here on the Dark Side! :D Welcome to the infidiction, and hang on...this is an E ticket ride!!!
