Here is a link to the news article that the local paper ran on me and my knives.
The reporter asked about the naginata and cigar cutter. I explained the reason I made them, and she put them in the article as being winners of competitions. Well....sort of,I suppose.

Great write-up,Stacy-its good to see great makers getting a little recognition.

why did the reporter take a picture of that old man.
i had you pictured as a short chubby guy.<grin>
thats great, from what i have seen and questions I've asked and the replies i get in return you deserve such a write up.

Great article Stacy! I'd say you did win the competitions, even if everyone else was so afraid of your work that they dropped out :)

Although she painted a pretty good picture of you, I believe she could have done better. Where were all the pix of your cool knives? Where was the dragon's breath pic? Where was your show schedule listing where folks could meet this amazing bladesmith? Hmmm, I think you should point out these oversights to the journalist and get some free advertisement space in the paper for a while!

Good go Stacy! Thanks for sharing! -Phil

Phil,
I was a bit surprised that there wasn't some knife pics. She took a lot of them. They may be used in the article when it comes out again next week in the Compass ( This week it was in the Beacon). Those are the local supplements that are inserted in the Virginian Pilot newspapers in Norfolk (compass) and Virginia Beach (beacon).

If it was for a knife magazine, I would have thought it a bit sparse on info, but for the general public, it was about right.

Congratulations on the recognition Stacy. Well deserved!
Hopefully it will draw the attention of the national media.

Stacey Thats a great write up, good on ya man!
Although I'd have been really ticked off though at them mentioning your "inventory" of ivories, goodies and the fact that you use gold and jewels in your knives. too me, if I was a theif, that information would have just put your house on the top of my to do list. :(:thumbdn::foot::eek: might want to kick your security up a notch or 2 for a while.
