Hi everybody,

As most of you know Terry Sisco (a fellow forumite and very talented leather craftsman) makes traditional and non-traditional sheaths for khukuries. Well, I just had Terry make me a sheath for an 18"AK that had a damaged scabbard, and it is fantastic!! It is made of very thick/high quality leather and the fit for the blade is flawless, as is the fit for the karda and chakma of the front of the sheath(where I asked them to be placed). Terry also added a restraining strap to keep the khuk from falling out as well. I also had him add a leg strap fro the bottom of the sheath to prevent it from flying around. Yeah, yeah, where are the pictures?!? Well I'll be posting some of that as well as a killer 15" Chiruwa AK that I just got.
Bottom line: if you have a scabbard that is a blem or has become damaged you can't go wrong with Terry's work IMO! Price was right too.

Dang it, been lookin fer a concealment holster for my pre-GCA68 model 1955 Browning 380. But if I asked Terry to made one, it'd be too purty to hide.

Dang it, Rusty you have one of the nicest pocket automatics ever made! Wish I had bought one back in '55, when they were, as I recall, less than a C-note! (I DID get a Browning Medalist, but like a fool, traded it for a dog and the dog died.

Take warning, all you youngsters!)
I've learned better now.

I got to see that sheath at Terry's and I was very impressed!!

I have wondered about how a leather sheath would hold a khukuri and this one was perfect. The knife has just the right amount of friction upon dawing the blade and the khukuri and yourself are both well protected using the method Terry used on it.

Now I know what to do when it comes time to make myself one.

In addition to the utility tools a feller could sew a loop into the side to hold a mini mag light and perhaps a couple of other goodies without everything being to heavy to carry.

All of Terry's work I have seen has been excellent in every way!!!!

Yvsa,
All I can say is THANKS!!!!
I'm gonna try to come by this weekend, I got my little khukuri finished. It's very thin and very light. I put the yella wood on the handle , that's some pretty wood.
You can still see a little bit of the file teeth in the blade, next time it's gonna be made out of a leaf spring.

Terry, it will have to be after Sept.5th as we are leaving Friday night.
I have been running around putting khukuris and other knives as well as guns in safe places and getting someone to sit the house.
I believe that things are as secure as they can be in this day and age.
Pity things have to be done that way. When we lived in Oregon in 1980 we could still leave the door unlocked!!!

Rusty: (Mandatory knife content): Aw, CUT that out!
I'm still looking for another $100 Browning!
When I look at all the firearms in the safe now, I wonder how I'm gonna get rid of them all...shouldn't even think about getting any more, especially at today's bloated prices. And now, HIKV...sigh...

I want to add my endorsement of Terry's work to Rob's. I just got the sheath Terry made for my Sirupati and it's everything I could have hoped for. Of course, with Uncle Bill's recommendation I figured it would be good.

You just live too close to the big city, Tom. I was in Pryor the other day at a feed store. I bought a bunch of goat and chicken food and the guy had it all loaded up on a dolly. I had both children of course plus I still had to pay. The lady asked me what kind of car I drove. Kind of puzzled, I said, "VW Passat Wagon, right over there." Then the light finally came on and I realized she was trying to send the guy with the feed out to my car while I paid. I told them that wouldn't work because it was locked. Everybody just stopped and looked at me. You could just see "city boy" all over their faces. I told them I had lived in cities too long and always locked the car. That led to the owner asking all the employees up front about the current state of their houses. Kind of sheepishly, they all admitted that every one of their houses was unlocked right now. And when I thought about it, so was mine! I lock the front door when I leave but we never lock the back door, day or night. So, my long winded point is, there are still places in the year 2000 where people don't lock their doors. And some of them are just a half hour drive from where you live.
