You're right Frank. Talk about a cliffhanger. I was very excited to learn about the Centennial knives that Buck plans on putting out next year. I'll have to save some money, cause I sure do want one of each.

Joe's article on the fixed blades from early factory production was right up my alley. I thought it was well written, especially with all the detail he addressed. We have had a discussion about the BUCK dot knives that has been an unanswered question of mine for some time. Joe's hypothesis sounds reasonable to me, but as I told Joe, I am not going to change the labels in my display just yet. I think I will give it a bit more time and see what transpires. For those of you who are in the dark, I display examples of all the factory production knives from 1961 to 1980. The Buck dots are a part of that display, and every model Buck offered from that era is shown with the Buck dot stamp.

I like the new format of the Newsletter but there just isn't enough in there! I want to read more and more! The Buck in Vietnam story is excellent. Came right before Memorial day, too. Good issue.

This thread would have to come right after i got my hands on a Case newsletter! 6 Pages and great articles. I am humbled.
Sorry about the Vietnam story, it was a hard decision to make. I might be talked into bringing the rest of the story with me to the Blade show!

That's ok Joe. It could be 50 pages and we still wouldn't be happy.

I can't wait to read the rest of the story! That's worse than going to a commercial during the best part of a movie!

Guys,
I had the pleasure of corresponding with Jim, the guy who wrote (lived) the story. A true gentleman, which makes the story all the more enjoyable. It will be worth the wait.
