I'll let Peter (PTGDVC) fill in the details. I'll just say that this is all the bladeware any reasonable person could possibly need. Feel free to send me all the others Peter! :p

When I saw Ron's Hunter, I knew that they would go together like milk and honey. The two of them, photographed together, make a truely classic Bowie/Hunter pair, imho. To be completely accurate, I acquired the Bowie from Jason a few months ago and the Sambar Stag Hunter from Ron at the NY Show. Point Seven Studios performed their usual magic.

The Oakland Raider Bowie, by Jason Knight, JS
10" of clay tempered 1075, with nice wave pattern hamon. Damascus fittings, and a 5" African Blackwood handle.

The Bigg'un Hunter, by Ron Newton, MS
5" carbon steel blade 1095?, 416 stainless guard, Sambar Stag handle with a white fossil Mammoth insert in the butt.

Love the Hunter - really great blade profile, because of its deep belly it really does not look 5". The stag is fantastic - I think Ron must have his own herd of Deer stashed away :)

Hey Peter
I was wondering when we would get to see the picture.Beautiful.Fun meeting you and Ron.How cool was it to get a chance to handle that Bowie that reappeared after so many years. You Done Real Good that hunter is incredible just bold and meaty but balanced perfectly like only Ron can do em..Congrats Dude!

Wow! Two fantastic knives. You did good.

I missed Ron at the show on friday,i had to get back to work.
At the next show in march,i will make him a "must see"

:D

RAN is refering to a Ron Newton 11+" pattern Damascus, S guard, popcorn stag Bowie, that a fellow at the show had brought along to show Ron. If, I thought there was ANY chance of getting away with it, I would have hit the guy on the head, grabbed the knife, and made a dash for the elevators!

Jerry Fisk and Don Fogg, would be considering early retirement, after handling that baby!

Wonderful choices. Congrats!

It was a pleasure to meet Ron in person. I also chatted with Eric from Point Seven for a while also. We're cool. :)

Well, if Peter somehow managed to forget to point his camera in the general direction of this knife and click the button...  :grumpy: ... I guess we will have to forgive him - he was probably dizzy, cross-eyed and drooling at the time. :p
