Newt's"Sandbar Bowie"Arrived!!! It's A Beauty.

Gotta love it! I think it will make a great companion piece to my Ryan Johnson Plain War Hawk. I'll try to have some pics of the pair by next week.

Anyway, I posted my suggestion for a quick fix for loose Sandbar sheaths in the Review forum thread. As I said there, YMMV.

I'm no sheath maker...but...it seems to me that there is nothing for the kydex to 'grab' onto. Maybe it the sheath extended up an gripped on the guard, instead gripping the clip on the blade, it might work better (?)
I may try bc's fix over the weekend...If it gets scratched up it'll be a good excuse to polish off the parkarizing...hmmmmmm...

I have a feeling that the Brown Truck is orbiting my neighborhood, just waiting to make me happy.

Here is how I fixed the sheath problem with #7 .

It's all riveted and glued together , has almost that mountain man feel to it . I oiled it with mink oil , heating it with a hairdryer to get the leather to take in the oil. Then I dipped it in beeswax/parrifin mix , and did a little wet moulding while the wax was drying . I can hold the bowies handle and the sheath doesn't drop off . And this was my first try ....
