And the axis lock is one of the strongests locks I know...
You won't regret it.

The 755 is hit or miss with some people. I received one of the first ones to come out and it has not left my pocket since. I have big hands and love the thickness of the blade and the handle. I have beaten this knife silly and the blade and handles still look great. I highly recommend it. If you are curious about the size of it, send me a PM and I will put up pics compared to other knives. I only have 1 other benchmade but plenty of Kershaws, ZTs and other knives to try to give you an idea.

I'd suggest the 805 TSEK in M390 that is available currently, though there aren't many left. It is my favorite Benchmade so far with excellent ergos and an excellent high performance blade grind (the edge is thin, but not so thin as to cause any issues with durability) in a superior blade steel. Mine has excellent fit and finish, though you might ask to have yours checked for vlade centering if you do order one as that has been a common gripe with this limited run. The Rift is another excellent option, I have one standard Rift and a M4 Rift as well. Both have good high performance cutting grinds with thin but plenty tough edges.

I consider the Axis lock a very good hard use lock as it is extremely strong and I have had zero issues with those that I own.

For "hard use" (whatever someone considers with it) the 520 and the HK 14205 comes to mind.

I guess, the more something is repeated often enough, the more ppl. are willing to believe it. The more ppl. tell the axis springs are weak, the more ppl. are willing to believe it.

I'd also recommend the 805 but only because it is limited edition.

Aside from that I'd recommend the 530. It is fairly unique in the knife world in my opinion--very thin, very light, axis lock, nice blade to handle ratio, and a clean spear point.

If you dont like either of those I also recommend the 14205. It is simple but still ergonomic.

For hard use I'd recomend the Rukus series. My mini-Rukus is my go to camping knife because the scouts have a problem with fixed blades. I have used it HARD, even batoning and such, and the only problems I had were the pivot screw loosening, but that hapens on every BM i own and can be fixed with loc-tite, and the edge chipping from my own misuse and accidentally hitting rocks and such. But the rukuses are preformers that cut like razors and have great ergos IMHO.

Plus: Benchmade's framelock optionts are limited and Axis locks blow liner locks out of the water for hard use IMHO

Full size Rukus or Full size Skirmish best benchmade knifes to date too bad there both discontinued. Check out the manual Bedlam or the Onslaught 805 LE from knife works looks sweet might have to pick one up while they still have em in stock
