That's great to hear Sal, I'm intrigued to see what improvements have been made on this already legendary design.

I'm not really fussy about the colours of my knives, although orange would definitely be a big help to me at work, trust me it's not fun searching for a lost FG D2 Para in the bush at night.

As far as an exotic steel goes I've love to see CPM S90V or CPM M4 used. I'm rather hard on my work knives and I really appreciate good edge retention. Another worthy Para has to replace my D2 version someday!

One last question, are there any plans to bring back an SE version with the release of the Para 2?

I recall reading about a 4-way clip and smoothed out tang corner on the para2

Then that would mean the compression lock stays. Good and bad. Like most, I love the mechanics and ergos of the lock. Also like most, I hate what the lock does to the closed blade position. Smooth the tang corners out all you want, it still sticks out like a sore thumb with boogers on it. Get that blade farther into the handle! And if a different lock is what it takes, then so be it.

And for the record, my vote goes to orange G-10/Ti, RIL, CPM M4, or desert tan G-10/Ti, RIL, CTS-XHP... kinda like my FG Para D2, but with better colour, better lock, and similar but better steel because of its improved corrosion resistence.
