Next design from Kershaw- what do you say?

gorgeous knife... I like the absence of the pivot on the front from under the scale. Makes that side simply beautiful. classic Onion clip. .........

No visible pivot is really a stand out on this knife. I also like that a lot.

Hey guys, glad you like the Punk. I have only made 3 of them, and then moved on to other designs.

Tim I hope you don't mind me posting the pics. I have admired this design since I laid eyes on it. If you moved to other designs, maybe you can set it up for production now. I am sure it will sell like hotcakes and will sure appeal to even the non kershaw, non Onion, non Galyean, non flipper crowd.

Hey guys, glad you like the Punk.

PUNK????? That is the sleekest Punk I've ever seen....must be a low-drag-high-speed-Punk :D.

Very, very nice design.

The only thing that looks as if it doesn't quite belong is the clip. It doesn't quite follow the lines and it doesn't quite look like a "side fin" of the shark either. Any reason you decided on this clip shape?

.....
.....just stared some more at it....awesome design!

Hey guys, glad you like the Punk. I have only made 3 of them, and then moved on to other designs.

I don't know how realistic this design would be in a production knife. The grinds are what concerns me, they have to be just right to bring all the lines of the knife together. The way the plung kind of leans forward towards the tip is not an easy thing to do, by hand or machine.

The other thing about this design that bugs me is that there are not as many degrees of rotation with the flipper, as say a JYD or Lahar. With a custom knife, I can spend all kinds of time and get it right regardless of how much rotation the flipper has. Not so with a production knife.

I hope I did not burst your bubble guys, but who knows maybe I will revisit the Punk in the future with a production knife in mind.

what kind of compromises would be made to turn this into a production knife? I don't care what the specifics of the shaping are, that handle scheme is so gorgeous you could shape it into something more feasible and I'm sure it would still sell like hotcakes, it just looks so amazing.

Tim, if you could design a Kershaw balisong and/or kerambit you would be the coolest guy in Earth! :fingers crossed:

Tim, if you were to make this a production knife, do you have any preliminary specs on it i.e. size & weight? City life puts a damper on what to carry, although that knife looks more like a collectors item, one would hate to scratch that up!

Hey Tim, remember this knife? After I saw these pics, I fell in love with the design.
