I think you need a str lowrider clip... its like a whole new world of awesomeness! Its funny that a clip can change a knife so much. :p

Anyways i live in Northern VA (D.C. Metropolitan sprawl....) From my understanding its legal to carry any sized folder or fixed as long as the knife is VISIBLE . But you gotta use common sense! Country farmland area, ok 7 inch fixed blade at the post office no big deal. In the middle of the city + 7 inch fixed blade = you might get shot by one of these inner city sleeze bag officers...
 
Any of the Sages, Paramilitaries, Chaparrals, Calys, or Manix. All great blades, you can't go wrong.
