Next knife, ZT 0770 or Paramilitary 2

Apparently the detent on the 770 is there for nearly no reason. Factory specs have it too weak to work as a manual, and the torsion bar provides all of the opening resistance that the knife needs. Seems like the 770 is the knife that should, but can't. I hate how Kershaw has to make so many knives assisted when they would make better manual flippers.

This thread needs a pic!

I really enjoy them both a great deal. I was surprised how much I'm liking the ZT- but that blade shape is handy. Can't lose with either.

I like my PM2... Careful, if you get the PM2 it won't be your last spyderco.

PM2 is my favorite folder of all time. I love those things. And, Spyderco is my fave manufacturer, by far, for anything under $250.
Just note that the 0770 is aluminum handled. I don't like them; some do. Try it before you buy it.

The aluminum handled is a limited run that they no longer make. The CF model is gonna be the production model and it hasn't come out yet

I own both knives and even though the 0770 is a very nice looking knife, it never goes in my pocket. I don't like the deployment. Now the PM2 is an active "in pocket" knife. It's a great knife.

I've got both, and the PM2 is far too large for EDC in anything but jeans, whereas the 0770 (aluminum handle version) disappears in the pocket of my dress trousers. I'm not sure why there seems to be such a dislike for the speedsafe assist mechanism here. I've had a Kershaw Scallion and Leek for years and never had a single issue with either. Given the fact that the ZT is much more robust in terms of construction than either of those, I cannot see that there is any disadvantage to having the assisted mechanism.
