hey i have collected knives for a while and when I carry my cheap knives I am disappointed with the quality and when I carry my expensive knives i don't want to heavily use them because i dont want to scratch or dink them, anyway i am looking for a good quality sub 50$ knife. also steel is not a big factor because i can sharpen decently. thanks!

I got a Real Steel Sea Eagle for under 60 dollars. It is an amazing knife. I EDC customs and mid techs, but this gets much more pocket time than I thought it would. Lightweight, great ergos, steel, HT, blade geometry, solid lockup, etc. The G10 version is about 54 and the carbon fiber is 58, it is well worth the price tag!! I am going to get another. Not quite under 50, but worth every penny!

If $50 is your sweet spot, and trust me i understand, a few Brands to look for in that $50 range with quality products, (and a few models), in that price range;
Kershaw (link/scrambler)
Real Steel (gerfalcon)
Buck (vantage)
Kizlyar Supreme (ute/vega)

Welcome. I suggest an Opinel Mushroom knife.

Or, you could give us some more information about the knife you want (fixed or folding, what do want to do with it, etc) and I could suggest something else.

Been mushrooming up here in the great PNW for the better part of 50 years.

Ever since I saw this damned thing I been meaning to get one. Forget every year.

And I'll forget again this year. Marci, remind me of this little bugger right about the time NFL pre-season starts, would ya?

Already suggested, but let me second it: Buck Vantage series.

The model I carry sometimes is discontinued now, it's the large size of this variation and mine flips great. I paid about $40 for it, with Dymondwood scales and Sandvik 13c26 steel, but there are cheap versions still. Love this thing so much I'm eventually going to get around to sending it to sketchen for some prettier clothes. It's probably one of my best all-time knife purchases, I'm always happy with it when I'm carrying and using it:
