Next pistol

Why would a 3-4" barrel serve him better? Were he shooting targets at 50 yds, yes. For protecting himself, no advantage.

I amazes me the folks who buy a Ti pistol to reduce weight, then bitch&moan about recoil when they went out to shoot 200 rounds. They also b&m about not hitting anything at 50 yds. Snubbies ARE NOT DESIGNED FOR TARGET SHOOTING. They are meant to save your a$$.

If you want the most power in a lightweight carry, get a Ti 357. Recoil during a gunfight will be your least concern.

You don't say if this is your first pistol. If so, get the revolver. Then save for an auto, and transition over.

You might also want to consider carrying a speedloader.........

Longer bbl equals more weight toward the muzzle--better shot-to-shot control and a more instinctive pointing of the weapon.

For those people who don't have the means or inclination to train often, a snubbie might be more of a liability than an asset--I have personally seen people w/ a snubbie (new, infrequent shooters) miss a man-sized silhouette at 3 yds. Make no mistake, I've seen people shoot snubbies very well, but that was the result of dedicated practice geared specifically toward defensive shooting w/ that type of weapon (gripping, drawing and firing as quickly as possible).

For the rest of us, more X's will be generated faster and more reliably using a longer bbl'ed handgun that is slightly muzzle heavy--even at short ranges.
