I've been working on sanding the blade so I can finish this project up. Today I also spent some time shaping the handle and decided it was time to show you what I'm seeing. Neither the blade or the handle is anywhere near finished, but I think you'll agree the handle is showing some amazing figures.
Today I sanded it up to 2000 grit, sharpened it, etched my mark into it, then did the Ferric etch for the damascus pattern. I then assembled it and it is now curing. Tomorrow I'll finish the handle using the knifemaker's vise. As hoped, I think it will be done before the year changes.
It almost reminds me of a better looking fixed blade Kershaw Skyline. the wood is amazing, and the white part is like easy bolsters. Great job. Now, back to drawfiled daggers with birds on them.
