Righty, so, my plan will be as follows:

Secondary PM2 (not sure about full blackout again though)
Gayle Bradley or Southard
PM2 sprint of some sort
Probably a Sage 2

Thanks for all the advice everyone!

That's a good list you have. And I'm sure it will only grow with time. I can't stop myself from buying Spydercos.

If you aren't sure about a second DLC PM2, I would suggest getting one of the Digicam ones. I wasn't crazy about the camo just going off of the pictures, but getting one in hand was a different matter. Plus, since no two Digicam PM2s are exactly the same pattern so there is some added "specialness".

Great list too.

Why wouldn't a regular production knife be a safe queen ? If I like the knife THAT much then I will definitely buy another one to keep in the safe and maybe even another as a back up. Like I mentioned before , one for a user , one in the safe and one as a back up. That's the way I like to do it with my favorite knives.

To each his own , Synch.

Yeah, for sure each their own. I even understand your method more though since you have a version of the knife that you put in use, so you are enjoying it the way it's meant to be enjoyed. I'm more appalled by people who buy a nice knife, toss it in a safe and never get to experience it for what it was intended to be used for. It's like buying a Ferrari and keeping it in the garage and never driving it. A waste of money IMO. Obviously different people have different philosophies and they are welcome to it, but I just can't help but feel a little sad knowing something awesome is rotting away.

Yes I agree with that. I feel that to truly appreciate a knife (or anything really) you must use it and get to know it. That way you understand how good it is at what it is built to do. After carrying and using a particular knife , if I have come to really like it then I will purchase another to keep nice in the safe and maybe use down the road if need be.

But some people seem to be content with just knowing they own the knife. No intentions of use whatsoever. To each his own but it seems like a waste to me.
