With the new King, does he keep the Khukuri he already has, or does he have to get a new one to fit his new role? If so, does Bura have a shot at it?

I'm wondering how one goes about getting the job. Is it based on the Kami's reputation? If so, most of the BirGorkha boys should be in the race. Someone kindly direct His Royal Highness to the forums (then to be known as the royal forums) and we'll help him pick one out

Hey Uncle, is there a royal priveledge on UBDOTDs?

Perhaps we could all get some lesser titles as well? Jim could be the Royal Researcher, and Harry the Royal Apothecary etc.., I will continue to be (as my wife will tell you) a Royal Pain in the A**

Help me out on the others, I'm short on creativity right now!

:
If Bura was summoned for a confab with the new king about khukuris how would that take place?
Would the king just send out a car with a couple of agents and pick Bura up?
And what if Bura didn't want to go, would he be forced to go?

I imagine that Bura is doing much better as the foreman at BirGhorka than he ever did as the Royal Kami.
Which does bring up yet another question.

Was Bura paid more for khukuris made for the royal entourage than he would have been by the common person in Nepal?
I should hope so!!!!
I mean being "The Royal Kami" should account for something more than a swift kick in the arse.

I don't know for sure how anything Royal works in Nepal -- especially now and under the present circumstances. But, my guess is the king himself does little or no searching for a royal anything. Members of the Royal Staff would do that and my guess is that the lower eschelon Royals that do this or that never even meet the king. The Royal Gardener, Royal Cowboy, Royal Carpenter, etc. just do their jobs. And, I don't know about the pay but I doubt if it is much better than anywhere else.

When I lived in Swayambu my landlord was the Royal Computer Programmer and he almost never saw the king and his pay was not much better than he'd receive working at Nepal Bank or some such place.
