I'm taking some of my earned leave time in November around turkey day, so I will be at my folk's place in NH for about a week. Are there any knifemakers near the seacoast who would like to collaborate for an afternoon or two on a lockback folder? I'm slowly working through my first one, and would greatly appreciate a little guidance. I have the steel (O-1), and will bring the beer.

HEY!!! I am here in Mass. and do not make folders. But you bring the beer I'll show you how to make Damascus.:D :D

Tequila is good stuff! IG's got an awsome set up for damascus. I'm hoping to be set up for damascus the slow and manual way with a treadle hammer by the end of next summer myself. But after using IG's press... ooh it's tempting to build one of those instead. I do other forging than just blades however so a treadle hammer or power hammer would be more all around usefull.

Would anyone want to meet to teach me how to hand sharpen a knife?! haha. I have the basics, but just can't get it super sharp.
