Nice camp knife from FOX !

Dump the jimping and the blade looks ok to me. I don't like the handle at all.

There's a smaller version of this that looks a little better to me. But it also has that jimping that I really don't like. And there's a dumb size choil on that too. They should have nade a commitment to it as a usable feature like this one or left it out. It does appear a bit more pointy that this one, and that's a plus for me. This one is 6mm thick which if carried over to the smaller one could be a pain.

Personally I think that blade style they're going with looks a heap big better on one of their folders [though I'd want more point].

Fox does build a quality knife,

…but the machined surface of their handles seems a little over the top for my taste.

Here are a few photos of a D2 folder I have (Italian Forum Knife).

I think there's a few I wouldn't touch. I haven't owned a Fox for ages but the ones I've bought have been ok. My woman still uses a Fox folder I gave her sometimes. Of those I've given away only one person seemed underwhelmed. I discount that 'cos he's not a knife guy and I think he just wanted something with more presence and the one I gave him was quite plain. About 20yrs ago I had a ringer for the one below save for synthetic gray scales. Ludicrous now at the price but it was certainly well built and very solid. I used that a lot.

Big Mike:

Is that a secondary lock for the liner lock ala-CRKT LAWKS? Also, what Italian Forum was it chosen from?

That does seem to be a handsome piece up close. I also think it could use a bit of point though.

Wow first time I ever heard of Fox Knives, on my to-buy list now :D

They have some pretty cool looking designs.. The only thing I'd like more is a pointier tip on most of them.

and I hear it is very similar to 154CM:D

I dont have this knife, but i had others in N690. I think it is closer to VG10, it takes a wicked edge, edge retention is quite good, but it is a bit brittle & dislikes impacts on other hard materials. I'd sy it's a great choice for a hunting/outdoor blade, but not for a chopper... Further steelinfos: http://www.bohler-edelstahl.com/files/N690DE.pdf

I own one of the FOX Combat Jungle knives. Very well built, I believe that FOX makes the knives for the Italian military and I know they have a military line of knives separate from the commercial line.Grind is similar to this Nexus knife and like stated earlier here I think FOX bought the design from them.
