1.) Brand New Custom Made Handforged Bowie Knife hidden tang made by Chad. Steel is 5160 spring steel. Blade is 5" long, 1 1/8" wide and 3/16" thick. Full flat grind. Beautiful mild swedge on the back of the blade which tapers nicely to the point. It has a nice brush satin finish. Overall length is 9 1/4". There is a brass guard and a red decorative ring underneath it. Excellent edge formation. This knife will penetrate and slash with the best.
The handle is made from stabilized Cholla Cactus. Aesthetically appealing, it offers a very postitive grip.
This knife is made to be used, it is not just a wall hanger.
The knife has never been used or carried. It is as I received it from the maker. The small spots that you see on the blade is just lint. It is a lot of a knife for the money.

2.) MSC by Tanguay Custom Knives. Steel is O1 tool steel. Blade is 5 5/8" long, 1 7/16" wide and 1/4"+ thick. It is saber ground with a spear point. The upper swedge is not sharpened. Very sharp blade. Besides, O1 tool steel is well known for taking and holding a razor edge while it is easy to re-sharpen. There is a substantial choil and a beefy underguard that doubles as a blade catcher. Escellent jimping on the spine provides a comfortable and secure thumb rest. The tip is strong and placed right in the centerline. The overall length of the knife is 11 1/4".
The ample handle is very comfortable. It is made of canvas micarta which has been hand sculpted and offers superb traction without being rough to the hand. Two hollow stainless steel through and through tubes secure the handle slabs. The full tang extends 5/8" past the handle scales and form a window breaker / skull crusher / pounding surface.
The kydex sheath houses the knife and it is equipped with a large TEK-LOK which will accommodate belts up to 2" wide. The five grommets give the user the ability to attach this sheath to other equipment they may choose.
It is a very stout knife built for the soldier or the real outdoorsman. This knife's blade has some superficial wear because it was tested by Scott Tanguay before I bought it from him. He had mentioned that and I was O.K. with it. I never got to use it myself though. This wear is really nothing as I would expect it to occur after one day's workout. It is purely cosmetic.
