Nice knife with missing logo on blade

I would get documentation and keep it. A one of a kind with proof it's the real deal should make it worth more someday, not less. Also how much I'd be concerned about value depends on what the price range is and you are going to use it, not lock it away as a perfect example anyway.

If someone could show me ONE knife that has become more valuable due to some factory/knifemaker error/omission I would love to see it.
I think they are called 'factory seconds'.

Sure, here's one I own.

I am not at liberty to disclose what the "error" is. ;)

I have had a few offers for 3-4 times what this knife is worth based on the "error", on top of the value of it being a Mick Strider custom. No, it is not for sale.

Too many people watching Antiques Roadshow.
The real reason to get the manufacturer's assurance is so you don't get a fake when you paid for a genuine article.
Otherwise just use it.

Is the missing logo located where it'll wear off with enough use (like above the edge somewhere), or where it won't (like the ricasso)?

I'm not sure about knives in particular , but this kind of manufacturing "flaw" is very common value enhancing factor in stamps , coins, etc. . Sometimes to an extreme extent !

So just to cure a little of the curiosity - I still don't want to be specific because the knife-maker was very gracious with me - it is a smaller company with a factory deal for manufacturing and valued around the 400-450 mark depending on the scales/version you purchase. It's not a custom like I think that strider is above, more of a mid-tech. It does have hand-finished touches such as sculpted ti scales and hand-ground blade. The logo that should be there is not like Microtech billboarding and in my opinion one of the classier designs. I have a CRK Inkosi and an Olamic Wayfarer and a couple of XM-18's and I think it's very close to the fit and finish levels of those. So, a little context I guess lol. Thanks for the friendly debate and the insight again. The plan is still to take it back to the shop I got it from tomorrow and talk with them. Again it's not a huge deal to me as I plan on using it and reviewing it.
