It's been a while, but I recently got this one done. It's a laminated blade with Aldo Bruno's 15n20 on either side of his 1084 In The middle. I forge welded this in coal.

15n20 and 1084 have a really good contrast when they are eched i think you should eche the blade.

I am not a fan of deliberately putting deep dings/gouges/dents in a knife. That said, it is a nice knife.
I can't tell exactly from the photos, but it looks like the handle might use some more sanding and rounding.

I am usually not a fan either, but for some reason I just felt the need to leave them in there this time. :0)
Yup. the handle does need a bit more just to round the edges. Thanks for looking.

I think that could be a really cool knife if the brute de forge look was taken out. I think the pits are competing with the etch line for attention. It ruins both looks to combine them. Cool look with the 15n20 and 1084 though.

I like it too.
But I agree with the above, brut doesn't work for me. Competes with with nice metal contrast ans seems like it will hold blood and goo?

It's something I've never tried, I've always liked my blade nice and clean.
Don't really know what compelled me to leave it like that. This was also my first laminated blade, I'm just happy it went together as well as it did, seeing I forge welded it in coal. Im not even sure there is a real advantage to a laminated blade, I just want to do one for the heck of it. Lol!
Thanks for looking everyone.

I like the look. The only change would be natural handle materials for me. Give it a real old world look. But that etch looks awesome. The blade looks great. So far out of my ability to make laminate at this time.

I really thought about putting some antler handles on it but I didn't have any.
To be honest the only reason I put the red G10 on for handles is it was the absolute last set of handle material I have. It was the one color not one customer wanted, lucky for me my wife's favorite color is red :0)
BTW, I you want some tips on making a laminated blade there are many knowledgable folks on here that have many years of making knives under their belts. Some of them have helped me out a ton.

The knowledge freely shared here is amazing. I've got to redo my forge before laminates are a option. What did you use for flux if you don't mind me asking.
