well, look what arrived in the mail, 2 blocks of raffir. one of them is going on a small damasteel blade. :) so happy now.







sorry for the blurry pics. i have never worked with resin based material before... any tips?

- don't breathe the dust / wear a filter
- don't let it get to hot / use slow tools / low pressure
- any tips on what finish to use? website says it can be sanded down to high gloss

Would like to make the handles slimmer, but I'd fear that they get too slim.
 
Florian, I've never heard of this stuff, although it does resemble other products. On the green one, what is it that is suspended in the resin? I really like the look of that one.

I have no doubt you'll find a use for the studs and handle material. You're one of the more creative people I've met. ;)

The completed knife looks awesome. I'd be tempted to try and shave with it. :D
