Nice Yard Ornament

Found a nice anvil today!! :):thumbup::thumbup: 272lb. Peter Wright in a front yard flower garden.:eek:

Asked if he would sell it.....................nope!

Explained that an anvil that size really wanted to be used. Told him "I make knives and I'll give it a good,loving home!!" ...................nope

Offered my 135lb and money....................nope

Offered my 135lb, money AND a knife!! .................nope!!

Oh well!!! Had a nice chat with the fella. :(
 
Yeah its too bad isn't it. I know where there is a nice Trenton anvil sitting on a front porch as a decoration. I have tried to get it off the old lady a few times and she just likes it sitting there.
 
They had them all over here as yard ornaments. Just sat in yards rusting. That practice seems to have declined sharply in the last couple of years, so I don't know what's going on now. Hardly see them at all anymore.

People that owned them had a very narrow view of the worth of them. Thought they should be priced by the ounce like Gold.:barf: :rolleyes:
