nickel frame 110 back to custom shop?

I wonder what the current turn around time is now?

I'm waiting until mid January when things slow down from the holidays. Normally they say 4-6 weeks, but during this season it depends on their work load.

I was going to send in a knife for engraving (they will engrave any Buck knife) but they suggested that I take it to a local engraver / jeweler that I may get it back faster and cheaper without the shipping, etc. I took this as a hint that they may be very busy now. It's that time of year in any case. (They did say they will do it, but suggested a local engraver for expedited turn around etc.)

I have owned Custom Shop 110's in the past that did not have a tang date stamp and were as yours are.
And the certificate was different as well.
Buck must have changed things around 2008.
Or maybe it's just the S30V blades???

That happened with some of the Damascus blades about that same time.

I refrained from ordering one because I'm not paying for Custom Shop if the blade is not stamped so it can be identified as Custom Shop.

Hope they're doing better now.....that was sad.

:thumbdn:

I guess that's what the certificates are for?

But personally, so long as it reads "Buck 110" and "U.S.A." and "S30V" and "BOS" somewhere on the blade, I'm a happy camper.

Yeah, I like it stamped on the knife. Paper is just paper.

That's just me. I assume that's the way they're doing it again by now anyhow.

:)
