Hey everybody,
First thread in the Buck forum... I've been thinking about getting a nice stag-handled 110 with nickel silver bolsters, but I wanted to clarify something first.
The biggest reason I'm such a fan of the 110 is it's big ol' honkin' brass frame. Milled from solid hunks of brass, this bad boy is indestructible (as I'm sure you all know
). Other pocket knives, folding hunters, and lockbacks can't hold a candle to the 110's construction, since they all (or most anyway) have thin brass liners and pinned-on bolsters.
Now, before I spend the loot for a nicer, prettier version... I'd like to make sure that the 110s with nickel silver bolsters are constructed the same way as the brass 100s. Is that the case? Do the n/s bolstered 110s utlize the same "big ol' honkin'" frame construction, or are the bolsters pinned onto brass (or other metal) liners?
Maybe someone could direct me to a picture of one of these, seen from the spine?
Thanks,
Alex
