In the first and second pics the bolsters look, to me, more nickle then brass. In the third photo the front looks brass and the rear looks nickle but in all of the photos the pins/rivets look like nickle. If it's a brass frame shouldn't some or all the rivets be brass or am I not looking at the right parts?
Badhammer, yes the first ones have nickle silver bolsters, the other have brass. The rocker pins are made of stainless steel. The other pins have the same material as the bolsters.
Haebbie
Could be either, judging from the pics and knowing what we know about the unreliability of camera-to-computer-screen image/color/quality preservation...
I hope for your sake it's a NS 112, I really like the looks of the silvery frames.
(Even though Nickel Silver is just another word for "a silver-colored brass alloy")
I asked the seller but got antsy before he could answer and pulled the trigger on his buy-it-now. He replied after I had purchased that it was brass. I came home from hunting today and it had arrived yesterday. I was pretty excited to find this in the box:
A handsome 112 with Nickel Silver bolsters! I had always thought the original pic looked more nickel than brass. Maybe I got lucky, but regardless, I got a great knife!
Ok, thanks......I was thinking pretty much the same thing, although I suppose there will be a few exceptions, as usual.
I have a 25th Annie 112 in nickel and I don't doubt that a few leftover nickel frames from various projects went out in regular production from time to time.
