Let me start off by saying that my transaction with Nifrand has probably been my best transaction in the last 2 years on the net.
It all started when Nifrand (Randy) and I had arranged a knife trade. He was very cordial in his e-mails and always responded to questions promptly. After the terms were agreed to, he shipped his knife with some additional funds and I shipped out my knife. The knife and check arrived exactly when he said it would but the knife was in a little rougher condition than he originally stated. The knife was absolutely usable but was just a little worn. After a quick e-mail to nifrand, he explained to me that the knife had not been inspected before he sent it out. If it had ended there I would have accepted it since it is quite common that "new" to one person is not necessarily "new" to another. However, without me even asking, he offered to send an additional check that covered the remaining value of the knife I had sent to him. Now I don't know if this is common on this board but it really blew me away. Just because of a slight mistake miscommunication he was willing to essentially pay for the full value of my knife and give me the traded knife for free.
I'm sure this has been said before but people like Nifrand are few and far in between but rest assured, if you deal with Nifrand you are dealing with a straight shooter. I'm new to this board and to knife collecting but if only 1% of the members on this board are like nifrand I know that I'll be sticking around.
