Night Hawk...?????????

From my readings, it seems like many knife companies will enter a knife in a military choosing process just to say in their advertising that they did.

Buckaholic, this is a quote from another thread you might find helpful. I don't know how to get that neat blue quote stuff to transfer quote from another thread. Anyway, here it is:

Okay guys, This knife is not in production, and wont be, however there is a limited quantity that you guys can order that were made earlier in the year. If you are interested you can call Ena Johansson at 800-326-2825 extension 270, and she will help you out. or you can email her at enaj@buckknives.com
The knife is about $75 and is worth it. like I said there is a limited quantity and I can't see all you guys drooling over the knife and never owning one.

E-mail inquiry sent to Ena.
Thanks Topo Gigio...:) :)

Thanks HK. Gives me soemthing to look into. It would be interesting to learn the whole story about those trials and why they selected the SOG.

I think it had something to do with which one was better at chopping frozen wood:D.

seeing the nighthawk broken ruined my day ( i have 2 of them )

Don't let it get ya down. :)
There was a reason (besides taking out a hour's new knife and batoning it with frozen hardwood on the same in Siberian weather). The knife was sent back to Buck and was found to be defective in some whatever way...Messy has the detail or John can reference the thread (I'm staying out of this one LOL...I'm an innocent and only guily by association )

I have had two Hawk's. Two tone and a black handled. Still ticking...but then again, it hasn't gotten down to 17F degrees here yet. ;)

It gets pretty chilly here, and (your) ;) nighthawk is still kickin Goose!
Although I am not one to batton with a knife...

But Goose... your new Avatar suggests otherwise ;)

This can be an expensive hobby.

Click the pic:

Goose, this is no hobby!! It is a psychological disorder termed OCD, otherwise known as obsessive compulsive disorder (i.e., gotta have another one !!!) that, according to my wife, may be terminal soon (i.e., death due to wife). :)

Lovely avatar Gooser. :p

Just to elaborate on why my knife failed.... Joe H. said there was a small batch with a flaw in the steel where mine broke. They thought they pulled all of them, but at least one slipped through the cracks into my hands. Joe sent me a new one and I have a big pile of wood to try it out on ;) :D

They were destined to be the new 651X, a Nighthawk Folder... sadly, with no pocket clip.

How do you guys like the little Nighthawk Wally World carries? I am normally not much for serrations... unless it's a saw blade! Of course, I'm not 'normal', anyway, thus the need for 'buck$ for Bucks', I suppose.

Funny Stainz :D
I don't care for partial serrations either. Maybe there are more people that do than don't...dunno.
Having said that, I do carry them on some of my fixed blades...like the 187 Intrepid, the 890TX Strider Buck, and the Nighthawk. But I do wish they were non-serrated.

How about this for an avatar Goose? And it's not chicken..... :D
I succumb to being humbled by the cooked goose :eek:
Avatar changed ;)

I think I can see your NightHawk shaking in it Rubber handle:D.
