Nighthawk ats-34

How about one in either BG-42, VG-10 or ATS-34/CM-154 and the other in 1095, 52100 or equivalent leaf spring and none in the present offering?

Lemme send this one to Pete. I know that it will be a long process if it is ok'ed. It would still be nice to know either way.

Pete?

Hey Nimrod,

You gave some good suggestions for blade materials there, but after a few years I'd say the best all around material is BG-42. I peek over at the STRIDER knives forums once in a while and I see that among their customers, BG-42 is in high demand.

Will we be making any Nighthawks with that stuff in the near future? I haven't heard anything about that, and my thumb is on our manufacturing pulse around here.

As I said earlier, Forums members have come up with some awesome ideas for product -- some of which (D2 material in PCKS) we are following through with. But the best way to get these ideas in motion is to contact our biggest accounts either by mail or by phone and let them know that there is a demand for such items. Seriously, this can work. Our special projects group, which handles orders like this, has been quite profitable in the past few years and our company is giving them all of the resources they need.

Personally, I would love to see a time where Buck knives made catalog product for the large retailers, and an equal number of specialized product (such as BG-42 Nighthawks) for dealers that focus on specific market like Bass Pro and Cabellas.

Sounds like a goal to me!

Since we are sort of "dreaming" a little here, how about increasing the blade-length of the Nighthawk to 8 inches (without changing the blade-shape), as well as using either ATS-34 or BG-42 steel?.:).

Ooh...Now I'm drooling...:D.
