As the owner of one 650 and two 655's, I doubt that the quality was cloned.

I have seen these. They are really thin compared to the nighthawk. The sheath is horrible. They have almost no heat treat so the dont hold an edge at all.

I'm surpirsed you guys haven't seen the Nighthawk clones in the Smoky Mountain Knifeworks catalog - they have some with a blue handle and some with a yellow handle. I haven't handled one yet. but they sell for $4.99, so you know they can't be great....

Like most clones from the Red Mainland; they are meant to confuse the rightful buyers, derail the firm foundations of a "prosperous capitalist" industry; and flood the global market with faked cloned cutlery which quite simply "don't cut it".
Make no mistake, that cloned products are a form of "terror" economic onslaught which can prove fatal under some circumstances. These clones are not guaranteed at it's point of origin. So there's nobody to turn to when "seeking compensation" whenever it fails to perform like an original guaranteed product.

"If" that knife was made in china, I do not believe that alot of chinese companies follow patent laws... If they want to make it, they do unfortunately. Either that or the patent is up?

I had a chance to handle a few of these at a flea market a few weeks ago. They really were junk. It's sad that this crap is at all associated (if only by looks) with Buck.

DO NOT BUY. Thse things are a pile of junk. If you want a nighthawk spend $30 and get the real thing. It comes from a factory that stands behind it. If you spend cheap you will get cheap. JMHO.

Yes Buck did make them for a short time. Neat knife!
