Nighthawk coating

I received a regular nighthawk yesterday and absolutely love it. Great feel and heft, and astoundingly sharp for a 1/4" thick blade. The coating has been scratched up a bit all over the blade. I'm not worried about the performance, I just wondered if I did not in fact get a new knife, or if this is normal.

Do you play any music??? Welcome to the Buck forum and congratulations on you nighthawk purchase. As for it's condition....can you post a photo of it for assessment?

Welcome Bluegrasser. Congrats on your Nighthawk. Are the scratches from sheath wear or does it appear like they came from cutting something? Like jb said, a pic would help with an assessment.
