Nine Days in Sequoia/Kings Canyon - Dialup Beware!

Great trip, thanks for the pics. The tough parts look like the most fun ones, too!

Thank you. That is amazing. What an awesome trip. With very few words you made me feel like I was part of your adventure.

Good grief, I'm tired just from following along with your pictures, what a trek! Absolutely beautiful scenes, great shots, thanks for taking us with you.

Wow. When I make it to the Sierras, I am asking you for route suggestions lambertiana.

That was truly an epic trip and the pictures are amazing. Thanks for taking the time to post them all.

Truly spectacular!!! Jaw-dropping scenes of utter beauty. I am so incredibly envious.

Like I told you, next year, Iʻm hoping to make it out with you on a long trip

No issues with altitude on this trip?

Just had to go through the pics again, so awesome.

Wow John that is a great trip.. I think from now on your name would be "The man with legs of steal" . That was alot of walking up some major mountains. Havent done any backpacking for almost two years now with work holding me down. Sooo wish I was there. All those pics got me thinking of my pup Amour, We used to go backpacking togher and just pick a trail and go till we had to come back. He would have loved this trip it was just the kind of trails he always choose. I miss him even more now.
Honestly thats alot of going up and down the mountain. What was your pack weight?? How much food did you carry?? Any idea how far you walked every day??
HikingMano that first pic you chose is one of my favroit as well. I bet that little lake was much deeper then it seems in the pic.

In the pockets were a G10 Spyderco UKPK, Queen stockman, Leatherman Squirt, and SAK Classic.

Ray, get ready for next year, it will be another good one.

No issues with altitude (besides being short of breath 12,000 feet higher than where I live). And I didn't do any fishing on this trip. There were a lot of big beautiful rainbows cruising around in Sarah's Lake, and, since it is rarely visited by humans, those trout have probably never seen a lure. They would be very easy to catch.

Thanks for sharing! This was awesome to look at. Great job on getting the blue to pop in most of those pics. What camera do you carry on a trip like that? I stick to the trusty iphone for weight reduction.

I used a Canon SX130, which is pretty light.

The skies pop without any effort on my part, the Sierras have incredibly blue skies.

I am a purist, so what you see are the raw images. I do not do any digital manipulation of my pictures, and I do not use any filters (such as polarizing). The only artificial effects would be a little underexposure in pictures with bright sun on a lot of white granite, as I try to balance the exposure for the elements that interest me.
