My son, who is pretty game crazy, loves his WII. (he also has a DS, a PSP, PS2, and X-box, the Wii was his choice for the "new" system since he could only afford one)

He has always liked the racing and "cartoony" games more than shooters so that may be why its his favorite. I understand from him that the PS3 and the Xbox 360 have better shooters. They may also have harder games, since he generally will beat a Wii game within a few days, although he still likes playing them.

I actually like the sports games. They are the only ones I can play with him since I don't play much.

Just to update: Having picked up Mario Kart last week, I have to say that it is probably the most fun I've had with any of the Wii games since I got the thing. It's infuriatingly curse-inducing at times, but it's so much fun:D

I'm a pretty hardcore gamer, and I am actually having more fun playing MK than GTA4 on the 360.

We have the whole gamut - my 16 year old is a 360 guy - the games and xbox live make for great war/shooter like Call of Duty 4 and Halo, etc... He is also a gamer nut - has an FC Twin (plays old NES/SNES cartridges) Gamecube and a PS2.

Me and the other kids have a Wii. I found it accidentally just before Christmas at Costco.

I really like the Wii.

I am a huge fan of Endless Ocean - free roam scuba diving, with a cool story and unlockables, but if you want, you can just swim for hours on reefs, in a deep abys, everything in between.

My 6 year old and I play Mario Galaxy together. He's my "starbit getter." That's a really strong point on the Wii - co-op and games families can play. We like the sport game, have overplayed Mario Party 8, and I enjoy the "off" humor of Rayman Raving Rabbids.

If you are a fan of puzzle FPS, Metroid Corruption is really fun, and deep. A fair amount of thinking, too, a la Half Life (in a way) and lots of enemies to shoot out of the way. Shooting on the Wii is really cool.

A buddy has the Zelda for Wii, says it's close to the best. Almost Ocarina of Time, which I loved... He also has Resident Evil and says Wii makes the FPS zombie shooter shine.

I have it on the home wireless, and with the $5 Opera browser, I can surf the net on my TV via the Wii.

Bottom line is it's for the whole family and does much more. If I had to pick one of the systems in the house and toss all of the others, I'd pick the Wii. With kids from 4-16 and an old geek like me, it fits the bill for all of us.
