Incredible build quality. Don't let the price or Taiwan put you off. Both my wife and buddy got to handle it as well, and they agreed that if it didn't have the Spyderco logo or name, they'd believe it was a custom. Smoooooooth, zero play, light-but-solid, and extremely comfortable with the contours.

Very happy I pre-ordered the other day.

Thanks for the pix.

How thick is the blade at the spine? It looks to be fairly thick, maybe 4mm?

Edit: I'm pretty sure it's 4mm

The clip just looked out-of-place with this cool design, almost goofy, imho. Why use a run-of-mill clip for this elegant blade? For its asking price, it would not be unreasonable to expect a custom sculpted clip, I think... Spyderco's own wire clip would looked way better on the Nirvana

What a fantastic knife! And the price isn't over the top for what you're getting (custom design, S90V, full Ti integral handle).

And I like the clip just how it is..... ;)

I couldn't agree more

I like the blade-steel. I'm not fond of the blade grind or the "too-much" overdone on the 3D grip. I won't rush to buy one, although Peter Rassenti does nice work. The one-piece integral grip is a nice feature, and was bound to happen sometime, although I wonder whether it's like the "invention" of the LBS and its critics.

I think Scott Cook was the first maker to do an integral ti handle on the Lochsa, about 10 years ago. Maybe some custom maker did so before then, not sure.

I am aware of the Lochsa, as well as Marfione and Rassenti customs, and Lion Steel (aluminum) offerings, but the Nirvana will present this integral-frame feature by a large quantity American production company, which I believe is rather novel in the marketplace.
Since the inherent difficulty in machining must result in higher prices, not every knife fancier will conclude that the feature is worth the extra price.
BTW, I find the S90V blade-steel feature to be much more interesting, desirable and useful.

I completely agree. I think it's a shame that on such a special knife they have such a standard clip.

How deep is the etching with the graphic? I love that knife with exception to the etching which is to 80s looking for me.
I am think that maybe a heavy bead blast may not be enough but I would kill for a plain version. Does your fingernail catch or ride over it?
