Hi all,

I just got my Nitecore EX10 and it's an amazing light. single cr123 battery with max 130 lumnes and min 3 lumens. It's a fantastic light and the UI is simply to die for.

check it out:

I got the D10, it has replaced my modded hds 42xr as my EDC. Very well made and the unique piston switch seems very robust. Just my .08 lumens on it.

Have to agree. The EX-10 is definitely a cool new addition to the ranks of EDC lights. And I think it's an absolute steal for the money. Be sure to properly lube that piston o-ring though. The second tier functions work much more reliably if you can eliminate any sluggishness in the switch action. The low setting is very good, as well. Not quite as good as the RA Twisty, but still better than most. My only minor complaint is with the color temperature of the LED. I tend to prefer a slightly warmish cast to my lights, and the EX-10 (mine at least) is definitely on the cooler side.

i do believe bf's own unknownvt (also cpf's own) has a nice review up on candlepowerforums.com/vb look in the reviews subforum, there are much more qualified spokesmen there than I, just like here.

the ex10 was 59.00

I saw his review I believe and it's awesome! lots of buzz around these lights.

I'm buying another one to keep in the safe!

I got the D10 (the AA version, for those not familiar) and I LOVE it.

I especially love that I can run it on li-ions (14500's), lithium primaries, NiMH's, or alkalines. It will eat whatever I feed it, although the performance on alkaline's isn't great (what do expect, alkalines suck :p)

And a video explanation of the User Interface from 4sevens, who collaborated with Nitecore to bring us these lights.

I've really been enjoying Nitecore's lineup lately. Between this and their Extreme, I've been really pleased and gotten two lights that I felt were home-runs.

looks like a lotta lite for $60, i might have to check one out, thanks for the info.

Those lights look very nice for $60. I want one. Is there any difference between the AA and the CR123As? Only thing i can tell is runtime.

actually, the CR123a (EX10) has a longer runtime and it's got the same beam and throw. It's a great little light!

ordered one last week, but backordered from the fenix store.

i should hopefully have it in the next few days.

cant wait!!

oh man, I wish i would have known you were ordring, I would have suggested ordering from www.4sevens.com

This is the part creator of the light and has them in stock.

you'll love it! I've been carrying mine since I got it and it's a fantastic littl elight. Of course, it's not as bright as my malkoff drop in in my sf d3 defender, but it's kick butt!

take care and enjoy,

Fenix-Store and 4sevens.com is the same thing: just different domains run by the same guy ;)
As his business expanded, I think he decided it was smart to have a separate storefront because so many people were confusing The Fenix Store with the official Fenix company. For example, when the EX10/D10 came out, some people kept thinking it was a Fenix light.

That's only true if you are making apples/oranges comparisons between different battery chemistries. As the runtime/brightness charts in both selfbuilt and this_is_nascar's reviews show, a D10 with a li-ion (14500 cell) actually beats the EX10 with a li-ion (RCR123 cell) in both brightness and runtime.

If you are comparing lithium primaries, the D10 with a lithium (L91) still has a slightly longer runtime to 50%, although the regulation isn't quite as flat as the EX10 with a lithium primary (CR123).

Now, if you are comparing a EX10 with lithium chemistries to a D10 with NiMH or Alkaline chemistry... then it's a whole 'nother ballgame. But I don't think that's a fair comparison of the lights or their max potentials, it's just a comparison of battery chemistries.

Your comment that they have the same beam profile is true though: they share an identical reflector.

It's also perhaps worth noting that in addition to them being different sizes to accommodate their respective batteries, the EX10 has a SS bezel ring to make up for the reflector gap (since the EX10 is fatter, but using the slimmer D10 reflector). Whether someone likes this or not is just personal preference though.

Actually, I did know they are the same but there were also a few days when 7777 had some and fenix didn't. Maybe a glitch??

Perhaps so, although I wouldn't know for sure. I know that when they were rolling out the new storefront there were some software issues at one point. I can't imagine that one truly had anything that the other didn't though since they are just two different websites being run out of the same physical place.

hmm....could be. well, I retract my earlier ignorant statement....:)

Nothing you've said has been ignorant. I wasn't trying to be a know-it-all: I just didn't want MORIMOTOM to have regrets about where the order was placed.

not to argue, but my statements were ignorant of the truth of the matter. it happens at times....:D
