This harpoon point is 13-3/4" long with a 9" blade made from 3/16 Nitro-V stainless at 61hrc. The handle is made from stabilized elm burl, and has been oiled, waxed and buffed. The knife weighs 11.9oz, and has copper pins. In trying to strike a balance between sharpness and edge stability, I sharpened it to a 30 degree edge from .045" edge thickness. This way the edge should tolerate hacking through brush, while being fine enough for more delicate slicing tasks. The point of balance is about 7/8" out from the ends of the scales. There are a few small 120 grit scratch remnants above the plunge line on the right side of the blade at the spine.
