NJ GOV McGREEVEY resigned outed as Gay!!

Since when have we, the electorate, had any say in who gets in? The electorate didn't put McGreevey in office, Charles Kushner, et al... were the ones who decided who would do their bidding, and get them the most profits. Maybe I'm just too cynical?

Hi All-

It's amazing how far to the left the limousine liberals can go.

Jon Corzine? Please. He's only worth about a zillion dollars from his CEO tenure at Goldman Sachs. Miraculously, residents of East Orange and Irvington will be duped into believing that "Jon feels their pain" and will cast their votes in the ballot box. As long as the meager checks arrive each month...

Ken & Ed,

I realize this has turned very political in naure, and perhaps doesn't belong in this Forum any longer.

Perhaps, Ed, as your First Administrative Task, in your newly deserved position of Moderator, you would like to do the honors of moving this Thread to the Political Forum? I'll have to go looking for it, but I'm sure I'm capable of finding it.

If you have any questions as to how to "Move A Thread", I'm sure your side-kick "Ken the Mover" can give you detailed instructions - probably, even in his sleep.

Take care Ed, and I hope to see you next month!!

Funny you should say that. I just posted the same thesis in Am I the only one by SilverFoxKnows.

I think I'll leave this here as long as possible. It's only political when we start taking sides, and so far, everybody seems to be disgusted with this chump. :p

You da' Boss!!

I think the real point of the Press Conference (for McGreevey's sake) was to diffuse the Sexual Harassment suit, given the Governor's admittance of having "Consensual Sexual Relations" with another man. From the "management side", it gave McGreevey an (albeit weak) excuse to leave office. I believe that it was decided months ago that McGreevey never had a chance to be re-elected. The "machine" had to get rid of him, but he was a stubborn little prick. Had this "Gay Affair", not done the trick and got him to resign, who knows what would be made public next? Considering how many "bad" deals McGreevey has made in the past, I think the "machine" could just keep pulling one out of it's hat every week, until McGreevey wound up committing suicide. Who knows which member of his family was going to be the next target?

Through all of this, there is one thing for certain: McGreevey had to go, and he had to go fast (before that Sept. 15th deadline). That's the way the people in control wanted it - and that's the way they were going to get it!!

Politics in NJ has a lot of parallels with the Sopranos (which is incidentally shot (no pun intended) in NJ). There is even speculation as to exactly how the Governor broke his leg a couple of years ago, while supposedly walking along the Jersey Shore. I've been walking along the Jersey Shore for close to 50 years, and I've never even sprained an ankle!?! Just some food for thought.
