NMFBM LE versus 40 foot pine tree

What do your neighbors think when they see you running around your yard slashing and wacking stuff up with your new blade? :D

Busse guys are the only people I know who would rather chop down a tree with a knife than cut it down with a chainsaw.

Not that there's anything wrong with that...

Your W&SS brothers would definately appreciate that fatwood stump.

I thought about that, as I visit that forum as well, but I think you need a special kind of pine for that. Not sure though.

Anyway, I finished the job on Sunday! The Busse NMFBM LE did a great job, and it would still evenly cut paper afterword! I am impressed, as this baby was frozen hard. It was way below 0 yesterday.:thumbup:
I cleaned off the blade, and she was good as new!

ah, cut the branches on that last shot, put them over the sides in poncho fashion, pack some snow around the sides, and you've just made a winter survival shelter!

That is some nice work out for the NMFBM! Those things do chop like maniacs and can easily do stuff like that without taking too much time or causing too much fatigue. :)

Nice to see a chopping task worthy of a blade like the NMFBM LE.

On a side note I'd like to see a chop off between the NMFBM LE and a chainsaw on this size of tree. Sure the chainsaw would be quicker for the cut but when you factor in prep time, cleaning and resharpening which would really be quicker?

RoyalM - you have a good point - I do have a chainsaw, but did not use it here. I think that the total time would be the same in this case. But I got some much needed fresh air and exercise as a huge benefit! Also, I went out to do the limbing of the trunk, way before the family got up. They did not hear a thing, and slept away.
