the khukuri design requires more skill to master, but once proficiency is achieved, it can chop better than a straight blade......
so, in the hands of a master the khuk would probably chop a bit better.....in the hands of most people, the nmfbm would be the better chopper, simply because most people lack the skill to chop properly with a khuk......
i would prefer the nmfbm, because they are easier to use......i've owned many khuks, and one bad thing about them is that the handles have a tendency to twist out of your hand if you strike at the wrong angle......it is really easy to lose your grip on a khukuri.....and it is really bad to lose your grip on a 2-3 pound knife......
