You got that right. :thumbup:

You need a coated one to beat on Doug. :D :thumbup:

230 - I know what u mean. I think that's why I like the long thin machetes with the profile I put on them. Extreme flat convex edge into a flat primary. This combo is like a laser for the type of wood I run into around here.

So the 4x4 challenge is on hold for now :)

I have a 4x4 and a few 2x4's that I got for my next videos, but there ain't no way I am going though a 4x4 in one chop.

A fat heavy convex grind is good for weight, but not much else.

I like thick spines with a rapidly tapered thin(er) convex grind into a well polished convex edge. I'm not talking a paper thin grind, but it has to have a favorable geometry where it can push material away and bury itself deep rather than just wedge

I don't know if this is a little harder to achieve with stock removal as opposed to forging, where you could just hammer out a thick piece of stock thinner while leaving a crazy thick spine.

I can bury a machete DEEP, but If I bury it too deep i'll never get it out. Im getting that kalamazoo soon, so I'm gonna buy some cheapo machetes screw around with them.

I hate my cheapo grinder too much to take on that kind of project!

Smashed off my fingernail at work yesterday, the electronic cluth for the zero turn blades just stopped working...getting close to taking out the LE to let out some anger!

Maybe I will just take some pics of it on a log...;-p

Sounds good to me. :D

Nice pics btw Ank

Thanks man. :D

Here is a teaser photo of the video I am uploading now, chopped through a 2x4" 3 times. :D

1st = 20 seconds

2nd = 17 Seconds

3rd = 24 seconds

And yes it still shaves hair and I still haven't had to touch the edge since I 1st sharpened it. :D
