NMFBM vs. BWMLE

I think the difference between the BWMLE ad NMFBM has been pointed out perfectly, so I can start confusing you now

Look at the pic from DERICDESMOND and tell me why you don't consider the B-11 (the third knife from the bottom). It weights only about 17 oz - 6 oz less than the BWMLE - and its chopping capability is reeeeealy impressive (some say better than the BWM). It is also available on the x-change for reasonable prices. On top of that you get a supercomfortable and shockabsorbing res-c handle. This knife is a beast :thumbup:

+1 on all points. The B11 is not my favorite Big Busse, but it is my favorite user. Buy it and you will have a bunch of extra beer $

Apologies in advance for the slight threadjack but how would y'all rate the CGFBM vs the others mentioned here - especially when the price difference is taken into account? I only ask because I'm looking toward my first (and only -
for the forseeable future, at least) Mistress.

I don't have a BWM nor do I have the BWMLE, but I can comment on the other three:

From a user perspective I personally love the B-11 best. Close second is the CGFBM. It is second because of its weight. I just don't feel comfortable carrying anything heavier than 20oz on my belt or backpack when I'm afoot. This restricts the practical "area of operations" of the CGFBM to my home, around my car and short hiking trips. Last in this ranking is the NMFBMLE - a heavy beast I bet nobody really enjoys carrying around. For me it's home use only.

The same ranking applies to the criterea "price difference"

The funny thing is, when you plainly ask me "which knife do you love most" - the ranking is upside-down. First NMFBMLE, second CGFBM, third B-11.

Conclusio: I give the CGFBM the best overall scoring concerning price, emotional bonding and usability.

Thanks, that's what's swaying me more and more in favor of the CGFBM even though I kind of regret not getting a BWMLE when they were available direct (that, and they're just plain "groovy" - thank you, I'm here all week! ). I'm not really considering a Basic at the moment although I wouldn't hesitate checking one out if I already had a mistress. But, first things first...
