NMFBM vs. NMFBMLE

I have an NMFBM on the way. I would like to know the spec differences (weight, thickness, grind)between the NMFBMLE and the NMFBM. Also, has anyone done a review on one versus the other?

I've read that the CG is .25 and the LE is .275-.284. I've also read that some CG's were well over .25.

I'm just wondering the performance differences between the two.

For my choppers, I have a KZ, AK and now the NMFBM.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks Stump. There seems to be a bit of variation in thickness. Did you ever measure the thickness on the one that you had?

Koolaid = Dangerous

I have both, but I haven't used my LE. :D

The CG is .25" and my LE is .284".

They don't even feel even close to each other, the LE feels like a pure beast compared to the CG and I love my CG. :)

I've owned a CG. I loved it. I sold it and bought an LE to USE

The LE is really unlike any knife I've ever handled. It is a sheer joy to use. I've begun to acquire the skill for finer work with it. The zero grind of the LE bites deeper than the CG I owned and keeps an edge well.

Because I've owned them at different times, I can't do a clear comparison at all, in part because LE was, and is my grail. I sort of feel the LE "completes me" ;). That said, I do really think it is a better overall performer. Though I've read accounts of the LE being to much blade for some that prefer the CG, I don't have any such issues.

I do wish I'd kept the CG just for comparative purposes though.

The CG's varied from .245 to .300:eek:
The Knob Creeks were the thicker ones.

Thanks for the input. I cannot wait to try the NMFBM. I have a feeling that it will give my Nate Dogg sharpened KZ a run for it's money. I know that 230 has done some great reviews of the two, but, I want to see for myself.

You will be Very Happy - Very Very Happy!

Sounds like you will have the best Busse choppers! Nice! Congrats!

I have been debating on getting a NMFBM.....working a trade for one now.

My primary user (chopper) is the Scrap Yard Dogfather LE which is .275 inches thick with a 10" long blade. The NMFBM is .025 thinner but 1.5" longer. I am not sure how much the added length and INFI would factor in the chopping. ? ? The only INFI I have used so far is my Fence Fried Game Warden and it is a very nice slicer!

What do you think? How much of a difference would I notice with a NMFBM as my chopper?

I own a NMFBM LE. I dont own a CG NMFBM... and I dont need to. The LE is the most serious knife I've ever handled and used. I moved in a house that hadn't been occupied for two years. I threw everything that sh*tty, over grown, root infested, fallen branch covered, rotted fallen tree, thorny thicket brushed out of control shrub foresaken yard could dish out. My LE never blinked. It was as sharp as the day I bought it, and cleaned up like new.

I wouldn't mess with no stinkin' CG.

NMFBMLE's... Ya can't beat 'em. One to use:

One of the rarest LE's offered in one of the shortest runs in Busse's recent history...And one of the best choppers out there!!:thumbup:

...And then there's THIS really rare animal...

Honestly the differences aren't that great. They will all do great. Just profile them for use and you're good to go. ;)

I don't own CG but I'm covered with my LE :D
I love this blade and I'm sure You will too
