Wanted to prep some yellowtail with my nmfbm.
Not as refined cuts like my actual kitchen knives, but the weight made it easy to sink in and cut bones with ease.

Took about 25 seconds.

Thats a nice nmfbm and a nice tuna!
A little small though...

I cought that one 3 years ago in front of Rovinj, Croatia. It was 2.28m long and had 148kg.
Unfortunately there was no busse around to butcher it, so the guys just used an electric hacksaw.
Was one hell of a fight, these fish are strong, pure muscle.
I still could feel it in my back half a year later.
Maybe I can find a better pick for size reference.

Ah, yellowtail is hamachi, not specifically a tuna, although some would call yellowtail a tuna.
Tuna = maguro
Yellowtail = hamachi

Beautiful tuna llabrador, yellow fin belly is yummy!

Yellowtail is a good name for that NMFBM too! ;)

Amazing! Did you eat any of the belly?

Thanks red bear!

I'll post pics of the cappaccio later :P

No I did not get a single piece of the whole tuna.
They sold the fish and made quite a lot of money with it.
I just paid to catch the thing, its called big game fishing.
Its very uncommon to catch tuna this large in Europe, so I was very lucky.
If it didnt bite I would have spent 1k on a nice boat trip.
It was truly a great experience.
Here you can see it being butchered:

Very nice job HwangJino. Mine usually looks like it went through a chipper by the time I'm done. I'll have to try your "big knife" technique. Mike

It was 5 chops, was trying not to hit the floor. If I were on outdoor scenario, maybe 3 haha.

Happy new years everyone!

That isn't a tuna is it.
Looks more like yellowtail amberjack r

That sized fish is pretty cool - I haven't seen anything like that in real life, it's on the bucket list!
